We are launching a worldwide drive to raise public awareness and increase media coverage on the firewood crisis. We are determined to push the humanitarian community to recognize fuel as a critical need and standardize a fuel strategy for every crisis. We are spearheading an international effort to find safe alternatives to firewood and more sustainable technologies, such as solar cookers, clean-burning fuels and fuel-efficient stoves.
Women
and girls pay the ultimate price when they are raped or murdered while
searching for firewood. It's time to get beyond firewood.
Support
our efforts to help protect these vulnerable women and girls.
